At KAKOI, we put your company in front of your potential customers, ahead of competition, and ready to close sales. We are champions in generating traffic, we do this for ourselves and for our customers. This way, we generate the most possible traffic.
In short, we bring your customers into your world.
A Japanese name? No! The surname of the company owner? No! KAKOI represents one of the oldest customs of Brazilians when naming something, putting names together. That’s what we did. But wait, these weren’t just any names, they were the names of two species of animals that represent much of what we want to convey to you:
The first is the Kakapo from which we borrowed the “Ka”, it is the rarest parrot in the world, it is also the largest, it is a nocturnal bird and unfortunately it is an endangered species. Its striking characteristics are “curiosity”, its extremely “showy” plumage and its smell, yes, its smell: it smells like flowers with honey. It is like that very “intelligent” guy that you always want to have around.
The “Koi” is borrowed from the sea through the Koi carp. In Japan it is a symbol of “courage, perseverance, success and happiness”. The fish is so cool that it even has its own legend: it is said that Koi had to reach the source of the Huang Ho (Yellow River) that runs through all of China when it was time to spawn. To get there, it had to swim against the current and jump over valleys full of waterfalls and obstacles all the way to Jishinhan Mountain. According to the legend, the Koi fish that managed to climb the Longman Falls (Dragon’s Gate) would transform into a dragon (a symbol of happiness).
And so, ladies and gentlemen, KA – KOI was born!
We are not robots.
There are creative minds behind every screen.
It is not ‘likes’ that move us.
We are driven by real results that change the course of your company.
We do not want you to be just another post among so many others.
We want and will show content that attracts and engages your audience.
We do not make, fill or invent agendas without purpose.
We use strategies to achieve goals.
And what is our biggest goal?
It is for you to achieve yours!
At KAKOI, we acknowledge the Arakwal people of the Bundjalung Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we live and work.
We pay our deepest respects to Elders past and present, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
We honour their enduring connection to Country — to land, waters, and community — and recognise that this connection remains alive and evolving, despite the profound impacts of colonisation.
We hear the call of the Arakwal people to respect and care for this land, and we are committed to doing so.

An Italian and Australian citizen, Douglas was born and raised in Curitiba. He was a singer/songwriter once upon a time, but his passion for cooking and business turned him into a chef and hospitality consultant. Being a creative Aquarian and self-proclaimed Student of Life, his interests include a variety of cool stuff. In 2020, Dougie took a career change, graduating as a Filmmaker in 2021, then a Digital Marketing Specialist in 2024. Responsible for KAKOI’s expansion in Australia–NZ, he spends most of his free time with his beloved daughter, Cristal, but also enjoys surfing, scuba diving, and Nature as a whole. That’s Doug, in a nutshell.
(“If you need me, I’m on my phone”)
This is Ediney, he’s from Mandirituba, graduated in journalism, did a postgraduate degree in technology and lives with a microphone nearby. You’ve seen him here on several KAKOI News, he’s on Linkedin, Facebook, X (Twitter), anyway, just search on a network and there he is. Here at KAKOI he works on different projects, with different clients, in addition to internal work, which is why he doesn’t have a fixed position and calls himself “Factory Floor”. Coordinator of the Social Media Course at Centro Europeu (renowned private school in South Brazil) and professor of digital communication subjects. Now you know Ediney.
(“The JavaScript Kingdom has a new King”)
This is Boby. He’s not Marley or SpongeBob. He’s always been passionate about technology and communication, and if it can be done by anyone, Boby believes it can be done by him. He works in several areas, such as sales, web development, landing pages, market research, product development… phew, but let’s be honest, what really makes his heart beat is Pietro, Georgia and Hamanda, his family. Now you know Boby.
(“Poet on duty”)
This is Thiago, a graduate in Advertising and Marketing, father of 2 kids and passionate about playing with “their” toys with them. He likes to brainstorm and has the habit of writing down all his “daydreams” in different places and at different times to not miss anything. Many of his ideas put the graphic designers on the edge. At KAKOI, together with his team, he creates, plans, interacts, and is the “face” of clients’ social networks. You can get to know him better on Facebook and Instagram, where he posts few events from his life, but family and friends take care of that. Now you know Thiago.
(“My room, my rules”)
Hallana has worked in different areas within KAKOI and became our business partner in 2019. She worked in monitoring, interaction, customer care and currently divides her attention between online ads. She is our professional critic and points out several ways to improve our work. She is Lara’s mother, the company’s interior designer for our festive dates, but also responsible for the largest number of dismiss… well, let’s forget about that. Now you know Hallana.
(“She has the best husband”)
This is Dieinifer, but you can call her Camila too. From Curitiba, a Leo with three retrogrades, and a huge Star Wars fan. (“I use a hot water bottle”)
Jennifer, Jenni, Eduarda or Duda, whichever you prefer. Born and raised in Curitiba, her second home is her soccer team’s stadium. Her first love was the ‘Furacão’ (her soccer team) and the second is BTS (yes, the KPOP group), she will probably only open her mouth to talk about these two things or about anime. She chose journalism after watching The Devil Wears Prada, strange, right? Since the movie only shows the poor journalist suffering, running through the streets of New York with a coffee in her hand. Finally leaving her bubble and exploring the corners of Curitiba alone.
(“Take it easy, everything will be fine”)
This is Romulo, a designer with a degree in multimedia production, the son of a mother from the Northeast Brazil and a father from Curitiba. Passionate about design since he was a child, he has been to many places, creating identities for architects, musicians and even politicians. A long-suffering ‘Atletico Paranaense’ fan, he is part of the progressive wing of fans of this soccer team. In his spare time, he listens to alternative bands that no one knows about and plays Pokémon.
(“Taaaaaaalk Plaisant”)
This is Plaisant, a designer on his way to graduating in Graphic Design, the son of a bodybuilder and extremely sedentary. He is in a serious relationship with his computer and prefers to play games than go out with friends (going out? Only with real friends). He decided to become a Designer after a good career in other professions, until he fell in love with the best profession in the world. He occasionally ‘good-scams’ people by forgetting his own wallet. Now you know Plaisant!
(“Do this and that for me”)
Eva has been working at KAKOI since 2022. Versatile, she is still learning, but she works on all fronts, from texts for blogs, texts for social networks and risks her strokes in art. She is certainly the one who has the most knowledge in all of KAKOI. She likes to be provoked and, literally, does not do anything that she is not told to. Now you know Eva.
(“NewGirl”)
Known as Bia, and called Gabi by others, this young woman came to shine in Curitiba after leaving her hometown, Registro, at the age of 20 to face Curitiba. She is an advocate for animals, volunteering at NGOs and embraced vegetarianism 3 years ago. She has a little pig, that’s right, but a guinea pig, Antônia, who is the star of her life. This star is so important to her that she even got a tattoo in her honor! In her free time, Bia enjoys visiting coffee shops, binge-watching series and posting on social media. As a Cancer, her sensitivity shines. Now, you know Gabi.
(“SomeoneSaidHarryPotter”)
(“I speak when I think it’s necessary”)
Laura is from the countryside of São Paulo, from a city called Bauru. She has lived in several cities in Brazil, including Belém, Brasília and now Curitiba, where she has been for almost six years. At first, Laura worked at the Public Prosecutor’s Office, but soon realized that Law was not her thing. It was then that she decided to study Design, which matched her interests better. Passionate about electronic music, Laura loves going out with friends and going to the movies in her free time. Now, you know Laura.
(“Silence is my guide”)
This is Maithe, a graduate in Advertising and Photography. She was born in Curitiba but comes from a ‘gaúcha’ family. She is a media analyst and, when she is not immersed in the digital and data universe, she is playing with Manu, her Doghie. Between video games and hangouts with friends, she always finds time to recharge her batteries at the waterfalls and enjoy nature. She is always ready for the next challenge, living each moment with lightness and authenticity!
